Atelier

Approach

What does DadaBhūm mean?

Dada:     is an echo of the artistic movement Dada which invites us to generate change through a playful approach.

Bhūm:   comes from the Sanskrit word Bhūmi, meaning ground, which reminds us to stay rooted.

Architecture presents opportunities for material and sociological transformation and can act as a generator for bridging and creating relationships between the human body, her mental well-being and the physical surroundings of every-day life.

As a multidisciplinary studio, having a firm foundation in hands on crafts and artistic creation I learn from and enhance traditional building techniques with avant-garde innovation in order to create a vibrant, socially and environmentally responsible, future.

Place-making, memory, identity and meaning are central to the design process as I search to create spaces that are conducive to positive human transformation.

Atelier

Located in Halsou, a village in the French Basque back-country, I work on community level as well as further afar. From hands-on crafts on apartment renovations to long experience in designing big hospitals I feel that work on different scales creates dynamics and is mutual enriching between projects.

The DadaBhum atelier is a place for creativity, energy and peace. I work with advanced software as well as old style sketching, and do mockups for joinery and material.

Martin Ceder

DadaBhum is a result of Martins professional backgrounds

  •       art       •        yoga        •        architecture       •

Martin comes from Sweden and lives in France. While studying fine arts and then architecture, he began practicing yoga to more consciously connect mind and body. He worked eight years full time as an architect, which enabled him to concretize his exploration in a professional setting. After that, when he moved to France, he taught yoga for six years, while doing two architecture projects to meet his passion and talent for designing of the sensory environment. With his portfolio complete he can now design strong spaces for the world.
