CONTEXT

In these works, the idea was to work do precise geometrical shapes with high precision. And it is precisely because of the high precision that the ‘defects’ become extra visual, e.g. that the lines are not perfectly straight, but has a vibrating straightness about them. Or that the fact of remixing a new cup of pigment and binding makes for the rest of the surface have a slightly different hue of black, because of the proportions between pigment, egg, oil and water.
